From Ireland

Hi HSNY,

I thought you would enjoy this update on one of your former residents.  Annabelle the cat is turning 20!  She was adopted by me in March of 1993, as a very young adult cat, estimated 10 months old. I was at that time, a young nurse who had come from Ireland to work at Lenox Hill Hospital and lived in an apartment with my adopted dog, Kerry, and another of your cats, Jude.

We all moved shortly afterwards to New Jersey, where I met my husband Tom, whom she still adores!!  She has shared with us the birth of our son, Brendan, now 12, and the adoption of our daughter Emma, now 8.  She has lived with 5 different dogs over the years, all whom have held her in the highest regard, and 8 different cats all of whom she despised!!!

In 2006, we decided to move home to Ireland, but because of her age (then 14) were advised by many not to put her through the flight, quarantine, etc. but she has survived it all and is living out her retirement in Wexford.  She doesn't see or hear very well, doesn't eat much, and stays indoors, but in the middle of the night she still loves to creep under the covers and curl up under my arm like that first night when I brought her home to my little studio in NYC.

Thanks for all the great work you do.
Aine
