Passing It On

Dear HSNY,

It has been so much fun learning all of Gabriel’s tricks and seeing his personality come out with the more time we spend with him. Gabriel is called the “Mayor” at the park. He has to walk around the perimeter and make sure every HUMAN gets to say hello and know that he is there. We get to talk to a lot of people this way and I actually love telling them he came from you guys. It always gets such a surprised response because he is purebred, well behaved, healthy AND beyond adorable 3 year old dog.

Gabriel is a very special pet. It’s rare to meet a dog with so much personality and connection with humans. I like to think that part of that had to do with the amazing socialization he received at the Society and how well treated he was during his stay there. I have never seen more so called “non-animal people” fall head over heels for this little guy. We are thinking of making him a therapy dog because he can travel so well and loves people so much. Will keep you updated!

Thank you so much for allowing us to bring Gabriel into our lives. He has become an amazing addition to our family!

Here is a photo of his first bath time with us and trying to figure out how to eat his first treat!

Rocky

Just passing along an update on our rockstar, Rocky. He found an awesome forever home in Queens. Apparently he has claimed his throne in the living room. Isn’t he just adorable?!

Merlin's Update

Tomorrow, July 19, is a big day for Merlin. I am bringing him in to get his 2nd FVRCP shot and while I am sure he will be glad to see you, Bonnie, and the rest of the staff, I hope he doesn't think he is returning for good!

Merlin had made Ian and I so happy. I can't thank your adoption director, Bonnie Tischler, enough for introducing him to me and bringing him into our lives. She knew exactly what type of cat would be perfect for us based on my interview and she led me right to him! We believe your policy of interviewing potential adopters and checking their references is beneficial to both the adopters and your animals. Ian and I are truly impressed with your organization and appreciative of your devoted staff.

Merlin is quite comfortable in his new home. Again, many thanks for all you and your staff do for our four legged furry friends.

Busy Bee/Dog

A while ago, the Humane Society of New York adopted this Collie. She found her perfect forever home where we now find out, she has been busy! Not only is she a Good Dog Therapy dog, but she is the first dog in her town's READING WITH ROVER program for kids! So proud of her and her family!
