Like Peas In A Pod

Dear Humane Society of New York,

About a month ago I adopted a kitten from you. He is the orange one in the photos we now call Rufus. I wanted to send this update to show you just how cute and wonderful things are going. I took these photos of Rufus and Kali when they were eating and napping; just about the only times they aren’t moving.

Thank you!

Cosmo + Jett = BFF

Dear Humane Society of New York,

I got Jett two years ago and he has always been a happy dog. But it seemed like he was always looking for a buddy. On his walks, in the park, any dog he would pass, he just had this look about him when he left their side. I knew it was only a matter of time before I got myself a second dog. When I got settled into my new apartment I thought about finally getting him a little friend but I knew this had to be right not just for Jett but for me too. A year later, along came Cosmo and the rest is history! He is an amazing little monkey. They immediately bonded and play ALL the time. This photo is taken after I got them out of the house and went to the park. They were exhausted! (Sorry it isn't more clear.) Jett wouldn’t even look at me for the photo and Cosmo wouldn’t lift his head no matter what strange noises I tried to make. They are still teaching each other weird habits too. Like collecting their chew toys as you can seen above. It’s comical and a pleasure to watch them with each other. My boy Jett is happy, and so is Cosmo, which makes me happy. Thank you to a wonderful team over at the Humane Society of New York for helping me find the perfect match for my family.

Passing It On

Dear HSNY,

It has been so much fun learning all of Gabriel’s tricks and seeing his personality come out with the more time we spend with him. Gabriel is called the “Mayor” at the park. He has to walk around the perimeter and make sure every HUMAN gets to say hello and know that he is there. We get to talk to a lot of people this way and I actually love telling them he came from you guys. It always gets such a surprised response because he is purebred, well behaved, healthy AND beyond adorable 3 year old dog.

Gabriel is a very special pet. It’s rare to meet a dog with so much personality and connection with humans. I like to think that part of that had to do with the amazing socialization he received at the Society and how well treated he was during his stay there. I have never seen more so called “non-animal people” fall head over heels for this little guy. We are thinking of making him a therapy dog because he can travel so well and loves people so much. Will keep you updated!

Thank you so much for allowing us to bring Gabriel into our lives. He has become an amazing addition to our family!

Here is a photo of his first bath time with us and trying to figure out how to eat his first treat!
