Miss Mabel

Miss Mabel was one of the most perfect dogs we have met and are so happy to report that things are going well for her in her new home.

One day, in a town far away, someone brought Miss Mable to a boarding facility.  The owner claimed that they were going on vacation and would return for her.  Sadly, that never happened and she was considered abandoned and brought to her local shelter, which was a kill shelter.  She caught the eye of someone there just in time, and after a long journey, meeting many amazing people along the way, a couple of days later we were accepting Miss Mabel into our Adoption Center.  Now, she is in a wonderful home with her new family!

From her owners:

"Hi Humane Society of New York,

We just wanted to let you know that we have had a fantastic first month with Miss Mabel                (who we now call Ellie).  She has settled in really well. She is a real sweetie at home, enjoys lots of cuddles and sleeping, but has limitless energy outside.

We take her for long walks every day around Roosevelt Island. She is super friendly with other people and has met lots of other dogs. People are always commenting about how sweet she is and how good she is with their dogs and with kids. We have taken her off the island and walked Central Park with her (she is obsessed by squirrels). She plays very well in dog parks and is easily the fastest and friendliest dog there!

She is just too good to be true and a completely perfect match for us.

We cannot thank you enough for rescuing her and for allowing her to be part of our family.

We've attached a few photos.

Hope to see you soon.

Best wishes,
P."

Henry

"Hi Friends!
I told these people I was cute enough without a Santa hat and downright refused to put it on!  However, I can't do without my bow tie!  Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and the very best in 2013!
Love,
Henry"

Calendar Boy, Teddy

Dear Bonnie,

This is long overdue, much apologies for that.  Time just has a way of getting away from you & before you know it, 2 years have past.  Just a quick note & belated gift for you – words can not express how much we love Teddy and how appreciative we are that you helped bring him into our lives.  Thank you also for all the help you provided us at the clinic following his adoption.  You are truly amazing.  I still don’t know how you knew from moment one that Teddy was the perfect match for us, but you were 100% right.  M, Teddy & I moved back to Pennsylvania about a year ago to get out house ready for sale.  Hopefully, it will sell this year so that we can move back to Jersey City permanently.  Teddy is the sweetest, happiest dog.  He loves the big house, the yard, the park across the street, and loves to play with his friends Casper, Rosie & his girlfriends Abi & Kelly.  He thinks he is human, probably because we consider him our child.  And a spoiled child he is.  We can’t imagine life without him.  He’s doing great, is very loved and so happy.  Again, thanks for all you do.  Please say hi to everyone at Humane Society of New York for us and we’ll bring Teddy for a visit next time we’re in town.

Happy Holidays!

"Charlie"

Hi!
Happy New Year and Happy New Dog!
Sophia and I hope you are all well. We wanted to let you know that Alexander, now re-named "Charlie," is doing great. He's the happiest, sweetest and most fun loving dog! We are head over heels in love with him.
His adjustment is going smoothly, and he and Billy the Cat are getting along beautifully. They love to play and wrestle, and Charlie loves the cat tunnel. We're thinking agility training might be in his future : ) He's also an excellent ball player. His appetite is great and he is showing more energy and spirit every day.  He has made a good friend with a little dog downstairs in our building and they have play dates every day. He likes his walks and we are introducing him to people and dog neighbors and our neighborhood. Charlie is a really social dog, and seems to get along with everyone! I think he would make a great therapy dog when he gets a little older.
We want to thank you so much for making the perfect match and taking such good care of Charlie while he was at the Humane Society of New York. He is a very special dog, and we are so happy he is part of our family.
 All the best,
 X
PS: we hope you enjoy the pic we sent. We'll send a few more soon.

*Star*

Dear HSNY,

Hi!  I had some time for a few photos of Star, I have renamed her Eryn Star, I think she is so beautiful and elfish, thought this is a good name for her. She was, as was I, excited and nervous but happy the first day, did not like the subway ride to Greenpoint, but soon after she was really relaxing and seems happy and very playful. She likes to run through the apartment, and plays with her toys, also she plays in the bathtub and like to hide behind the curtains and peek out...and of course she is very interested in looking out the window.  At first she wouldn't get up on the furniture but now I am encouraging her to do that. She is so sweet and affectionate and gentle, I am sure the love and kindness she received from all of you at the Humane Society is why.

Anyway, she is really wonderful and thank you all again very much.
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year.
